Naomi Osaka’s talent is still speaking for itself. She pulled out of the French Open and Wimbledon this summer for mental health reasons but she’s still a hot item, despite a massive attempted cancellation she’s survived. When you’re the Number 2 female tennis player in the world, you’re not going to go away that easily.

Adding to her list of successes, Osaka’s now going to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s latest Swimsuit edition. Also on the cover is rapper Megan thee Stallion and transgender activist, model and actress Leyna Bloom. SI editor MJ Day said “If there’s one thing that our cover models have in common, it’s that they don’t have one thing in common.”

“They look different, have different upbringings, have different passions and inspirations. But each is a reminder that beauty comes in many forms.”

“We celebrate Naomi for her passion, strength and power geared toward consistently breaking barriers when it comes to equality, social justice and mental health.”

In a video, Osaka said, “I’m so proud to be the first Japanese and Haitian women to grace one of the covers.”

Will you be picking up this Sports Illustrated edition?
