Nick Cannon just did an interview with Entertainment Tonight and unsurprisingly, the topic of him as a parent came up being as though he has such an interesting background to the 7 kids he currently has. He spoke about wanting more kids and then pointed out that his therapist not only seems to think that’s a bad idea but believes he should be celibate. And just how did that happen? Well having 4 kids in a year probably had something to do with it.

“Think about it, you can’t be like, ‘No I’m done.’ Like what if God says, ‘No you not,’” Cannon told Entertainment Tonight before joking, “But I’m not sitting out here planning it. My therapist says I should be celibate.” As for why he even has so many kids, he said, “I come from a big family, I have several siblings, being raised in an unorthodox family by my grandparents at times, I’ve experienced such a wide range of upbringing that I have such a love and passion for kids and family. I want a big family too,” Cannon, 40, confessed. “The Lord has blessed me with what I asked.”

He went on to state that even though he has all of these kids and yes they’re spread out across 4 partners, he does spend as much time with them that he can. “They get my full attention when I’m not working,” he said. “And that’s the beauty of it because it kind of keeps me out of trouble. It’s either work or playing with my kids.”

Cannon also said that all of these kids were on purpose with none of them being an accident. He said, “Trust me, there’s a lot of people that I could’ve gotten pregnant that I didn’t. The ones that got pregnant are the ones that were supposed to get pregnant.”

Okay, Nick. If you like it, we love it. As long as they’re taken care of, that’s mostly all that matters. We’ll add that the point the therapist was making was that even though he may want a big family, he has to be mindful what type of emotional toll this type of fractured family setting can cause others, despite how well intentioned he may be.
