Nick Carter responded Sunday about his brother Aaron Carter being found dead in his bathtub. The 42 year old Backstreet Boys singer posted on Instagram, “My heart has been broken today. Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded. I have always held onto the hope, that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed.”
The post continued, “Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss. But the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here. I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know. I love you Chizz., now you get a chance to finally have some peace you could never find here on earth….God, please take care of my baby brother.”

Given the tumultuous relationship these two had where in 2019 Nick filed for a restraining order against Aaron for him to stay away from him and his sister Angel after he said Aaron allegedly expressed the desire to “intentions of killing my wife and unborn child.” Upon receipt, Aaron told him they were “done for life.” In retrospect all of this is nothing given that one of them are gone now and it’s a shame to see that things couldn’t have panned out better between each other. Aaron also was trying to get his life together after opening up in 2019 about being diagnosed with schizophrenia, a very serious mental illness, especially if not managed properly.
Audio footage of a housekeeper discovering his dead body and screaming for help and law enforcement has told TMZ that they plan to be doing a deep dive into his drug use history. His fiance Melanie Martin told TMZ, “My fiancé Aaron Carter has passed away. I love Aaron with all my heart and it’s going to be a journey to raise a son without a father. Please respect the privacy of my family as we come to terms with the loss of someone we love greatly. We are still in the process of accepting this unfortunate reality. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated.”
