It’s been almost three months since the death of rapper Nipsey Hussle, an event that took a heavy toll on many in the black community as well as hip hop. He was a person who had defied everything said about African Americans but also was a role model for how to build a thriving community without the government’s help. Of course to others he represented all of the negative stereotypes based on his past, but they’re not important in this discussion. We’ve seen an influx of tattoos, murals and songs dedicated to him since then, 3 murals of which came up across L.A. within days of his passing and tattoos from people like his fiancee Lauren London, fellow rapper The Game and Cavaliers player J.R. Smith.
Well Nipsey’s sister Samantha Smith just joined the Nipsey tattoo clique by having a giant one of him placed on her shoulder that has to be one of the best looking ones we’ve seen. In a touching tribute she wrote in the Instagram post about her brother, she said he put integrity before everything, was honorable, lived purposely and dismissed fear, all of which were inspiring traits to us all. The 33 year old rapper who was gunned down outside of his store, The Marathon Clothing left his 10 year old daughter Emani in the custody of his sister despite protest from the child’s mother. While working on a visitation schedule as she has not had luck in court regarding custody.
