Pam Anderson is ready to take back the narrative of her life after the reactions to the Pam & Tommy series have come in. And to be fair, she had nothing to do with the project as she was working on her own documentary. Both Anderson and Lee have spoken about how the show takes a sympathetic tone to Anderson’s story, it wasn’t made with her consent. And she also says she’s no one’s victim.
In a statement posted to Netflix’s Twitter account, they said “Pamela Anderson is ready to tell her story in a new documentary. The film, which has been in the making for several years, will feature the pop culture icon setting the record straight as she looks back on her professional path and her personal journey.”

“My life,” reads the note from the announcement. “A thousand imperfections, a million misperceptions…I can only surprise you — not a victim, but a survivor and alive to tell the real story.”
Anderson’s son Brandon Thomas Lee is credited as a producer on the film with Ryan White directing. This follows the already 3 books she’s put out about her life, Pandemonium in 1997, Star Struck in 2005 and Raw in 2015.
Sebastian Stan plays Tommy Lee in the Hulu series who said in a Variety interview that he “couldn’t imagine” what it would be like having something so intimate leaked to the public. Stan’s portrayal of Lee was approved by the Motley Crue drummer who said he knew him and that he liked what he heard from Stan about his role. Lily James on the other hand wasn’t able to reach Anderson because as director Robert D. Siegel said, she “desired not to be involved.” He also added that the “show loves Pam” and that she’s “the hero.”
“At every step of the way, we’ve tried to do right by her,” he said. A source close to Anderson told Entertainment Weekly, “She’ll never, never watch this. Not even years from now. Not even the trailer.” Her friend Courtney Love said the Hulu show “rehashed old wounds” and caused “complex trauma” for her.
As of now, the Netflix documentary Anderson has been working on is yet to be titled with a TBA date.
