Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams announced last year that she was working on a memoir where she said she would “share the real me” in what would be her first book. Titled The Pursuit of Porsha: How I Grew Into My Power and Purpose, she said in a statement at the time, “Putting yourself out there in these times can be both a blessing and curse,” Williams says in a statement. “I want to share the real me and my story here, including both my trials as well as my many blessings.”
“I am more than a soundbite or a headline or a rumor,” she continues. “I’m a strong Black woman who has triumphed over adversity and owned every single one of my mistakes. My story is a journey of passion, faith, and discovery.”
Now she’s closer to releasing the book with a November 16 release date and has decided to share the first chapter. The dedication was written for her daughter Pilar Jhena McKinley that she had in 2019 that reads, “To my lifesaver PJ, Mommy’s tears will never be your fears. Love you forever!”
The preview to the book reads, “A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR” that reads: “To protect the privacy of my loved ones, and other people whom I’ve met and would rather forget, some names have been changed. Others have been erased.” The preview continues, “If there is one person I can touch with my story or save from making the same mistakes I did, then it was all worth it,” she write. “Honestly, it was all worth it anyway because it made me the woman, the mother, the daughter, and the friend that I am today. Every sparkling diamond has been put under pressure. I am no exception. Some of that pressure you’ve seen on television, but other moments you have no idea about—until now.”
