Quinta Brunson is the star of the new sitcom Abbott Elementary that just appeared on Late Night With Seth Meyers this week discussing the show and her rise to fame. While there she revealed an interesting, yet unexpected job she had.. and that was being a phone sex operator. She explained it by saying, “So, I needed some money ’cause I was really broke, and I saw an opportunity on Craigslist for some voiceover work and I was like, ‘I want to be in cartoons one day — I’d love to do that.’”

The job description, Brunson said read, “Play a character for someone to call you up and have a good time” which she said sounded “fun.” She was given the name “Crystal” as her personna and a picture of ‘Buffie the Body’ as for who she was supposed to be portraying.

“I had to pretend to be her on the phone for people that called. And it was really gross. I couldn’t get through it. But they did tell the truth. They said, “You will get paid a dollar a minute,” and I made $3 that day.”

Meanwhile, all of this is a thing of the past. It may have been close to 8 years since first going viral with her ‘He Got Money‘ viral video but today she has a show that’s tied as Number One in the new comedy category for the 18-49 demographic tied with CBS’ Ghosts so she certainly won’t have to do any more phone sex these days… unless she wants to. And that show, Abbott Elementary that she wrote about a group of dedicated Philadelphia public school teachers has just been renewed for a second season.
