The Real Housewives of New York reunion is going to be taped in September after being pushed back from August. Ratings concerns have been speculated as the reason by fans, by production has said scheduling conflicts are the reason why. As for the ratings, they’re down this season, and eyes have been turning to new castmember Eboni K. Williams. She’s been accused of laying it on thick for her first season.

Now Williams has already said that she doesn’t think her presence as not only the sole black cast member but the first in the show’s history should mean her discussions on race are the cause of a ratings bust. She said that’s up to production what goes into the final edit. If they didn’t want it in there they could have cut it out or redirected their conversations.

Ramona Singer had a pretty bad blowup with Williams saying she didn’t want to discuss race and even went to challenging her family’s immigrant background with being black which didn’t exactly come across well. When Leah McSweeney came to Williams’ defense by saying she’s still black whether these conversations happen or not, Singer said that she was still white. It’s pretty safe to say that if that is how you plan to handle a race discussion, you SHOULD have something to worry about.

On Thursday Williams took a pic with Crystal Kung Minkoff, the first Asian American castmember on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills captioned “These deranged bigots are just mad AF that their days of dominance are coming to an end,” adding the hasthag “#TimesUpOnWhiteSupremacy.” Ouch.

Singer is reported to have gone to production asking to avoid race during the reunion where she was told they would never do such a thing. Instead, she supposedly just wanted them to know how she feels and has no plans of avoiding the reunion. No comment from Ramona Singer or Eboni K. Williams has been made on the matter.
