Rapper Buchwick Bill just passed away at 52 in a Colorado hospital. This came after announcing he had Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. There was a scare where he was announced to have been dead but ended up passing still within the day. A statement came from his family saying, ““Bushwick Bill passed away peacefully this evening at 9:35 p.m. He was surrounded by his immediate family. There were incorrect previous reports that he had passed away this morning. We are looking into doing a public memorial at a later date. His family appreciates all of the prayers and support and are asking for privacy at this time.”

Bill had a full life and a man who time and time again was given second chances, something many of us are not privy to seeing. The debut album of Geto Boys, where he had his start in the 80s came to mostly negative reviews leading to all but two of the group’s members being axed. He remained in the group and went on to become one of the most known southern rappers we’ve known. He shot himself in the eye in the 90s while under the influence, lost an eye but lived to tell of it. He was nearly deported after an arrest in 2010 for drug possession but narrowly escaped that as well. He did however give his life to Christ in 2006 returning to his younger days where he was raised a devout Christian.

The hip hop community have been expressing their thoughts on his life offering their condolences all day. Rapper Bun B said he’ll always be a legend and there will not be another. Questlove said he was legendary and an indie rapper by the name of MadWiz even posted a voicemail from just to keep hearing his voice.
