DaBaby has been receiving all types of criticism for getting on stage at the biggest hip hop event of the year, the Rolling Loud festival talking about HIV and guys sucking d*** in the parking lot, calling out closeted men. So far he’s lost an endorsement with the fashion brand boohooMAN and has been removed from a remix with Dua Lipa. Even Elton John schooled him saying “HIV untruths have no place in society.” Now the last time I remember a legend reading somebody it was Lil Mo getting read by Prince and it wasn’t even over anything serious. He’s apologized, but he said his soul isn’t for sale.

So now enter rapper Boosie Badazz into the equation. Anyone who has listened to recent rants of his, they’ll know that usually when he starts talking, it doesn’t go well. He’s a talented rapper but he’s long surpassed his foot in his mouth. It’s down to the kneecap and just never left that motherf***er at this point. He proceeded to say that Lil Nas X was at the BET Awards naked and that if he had been there with kids around he would have beat him up. He repeatedly said if he knew kids would be around and he was on stage naked he would beat him up and called him a f****t.

Now Boosie’s getting called out but at the same time he’s not the A list celebrity here at the top of the industry and we know how he is. This is just Boosie being his ignorant self. But DaBaby is treating this like R Kelly in that CBS This Morning interview when he said he was fighting for his mf’in life. None of this had to happen.

And as for the people who don’t understand why he’s been called gay over this… straight men do not talk like this. Do they ask people not to be gay around them? Sometimes… but no one goes into detail about gay sex acts and then chooses to take up time out of their stage performance on one of the biggest industry events around. That is the act of a closeted person. And this is 2021. DaBaby’s not winning this one. People don’t tolerate this nonsense the way they used to. He was never asked to condone anyone’s lifestyle. He wasn’t forced to perform or collab with Lil Nas X so what’s the problem?
