DaBaby is starting to become a walking legal trainwreck. The guy who penned the song Suge, paying homage to the record producer known for a lifetime of industry bullying and violence apparently is starting to take on that very persona. He’s just been revealed to be in footage of attacking a hotel employee at the Beverly Hills Hotel December 19th, throwing the man up against a wall and waving his finger in his face apparently teaching him a lesson. The story goes by DaBaby that the employee ran out of the front door after noticing him walking by, asked for a video, was told no and after recording it anyway thinking DaBaby didn’t notice, he found himself getting roughed up by the Charlotte rapper.
No reports of charges being pressed have occurred but this could easily turn into a situation similar to NBA Youngboy where it wasn’t until footage of him attacking his girlfriend in the hall of his hotel came out that charges were pressed, and not by the person that was attacked. DaBaby’s attorney Michael Heiskell made a statement about the situation saying, “Any actions taken by DaBaby were likely in self defense based upon his recall of the events and until the video is thoroughly reviewed we have no further comment at this time.” And this isn’t Heiskell’s only issue to deal with as it pertains to DaBaby. He spent 48 hours in jail recently for battery for beating up a promoter and stealing $80 from him. The supposed backstory is that the promoter was prepared to pay him $20,000, but with DaBaby feeling his was owed $30,000, he became upset. And as usual, when he gets upset, this is what happens, as evidenced by the number of fights he’s gotten into over the last 12 months.
Despite who is right and wrong, he continues to find himself in these situations, and ones where he could have likely handled them differently. He might be one of the biggest artists out now, but that’s going to cool off if he finds himself serving a year or two based on all of these cases he manages to keep catching over his temper.
