Rapper Yella Beezy was arrested Saturday in Dallas running a bunch of red lights in his bulletproof white M Class leading to a police stop. Law enforcement got out to check his car to make sure everything was okay. They found an unlicensed gun and off into custody he went. Beezy, whose real name is Markies Deandre Conway is currently awaiting his manager Adrian Low Brown to bail him out. His manager says he’s being unfairly targeted.

Police smelled weed in the car and Brown says that was the police’s reason to search his car despite both not finding any and being told by him that he doesn’t smoke weed. His manager says it’s all harrassment. Now while no official statement from police has been released, there is the possible connection between him and the murder of fellow Dallas rapper Mo3. He was sued for having his manager beat up last year leading to him having a dislocated hip. And there was a time his cousin Marcel Bernet was being suspected to be the murderer despite Kewon Dontrell White being the one arrested for it. Since his murder is still an open investigation, there is the possibility Beezy is being looked at, but we won’t know until police make the announcement.

As for the veracity of the charges, there should be no such thing as an illegal gun. Everyone has the right to protect themselves. Even criminals need protection. Rappers are constantly getting into trouble over gun charges based on prior convictions and possibly not knowing gun laws in various states. So that shouldn’t even be a thing. The searching of a car because you smell weed also shouldn’t be a thing. Why is a smell illegal? Possession charges shouldn’t exist either because holding something people willingly use and having that be illegal is a trap. As for the running red lights, we can’t defend that. Otherwise for the other charges, we’re with his manager about him being targeted. We’re supposed to be addressing criminal justice reform these days. They should add these items in there while we’re at it.
