Rapper YG’s Hollywood Hills home was raided by the police Thursday in connection to a car chase and deputy shooting involving a vehicle of his July 3rd. The Toot It and Boot It rapper whose real name is Keenon Jackson wasn’t home at the time of the home raid but Tyquan Williams was arrested at the scene on a weapons charge with a number of other people detained. This would be the second person arrested in connection to the event as one person was caught trying to run away from the scene when it happened as he and the other occupant of the Cadillac Escalade police were trying to pull over before getting involved in a back and forth shooting with an assault rifle being fired out of the SUV tried to get away. One deputy received grazed gunshot wounds along his shoulder and arm.

A 65 year old man in Compton named Ricky Cornell Starks was pronounced dead on the scene as an innocent bystander. Jackson made it clear he had nothing to do with the incident tweeting “I was nowhere near the scene of this incident, I was in Hollywood recording in the studio all day.” Spokesman for the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Deputy Marvin Crowder said there’s “no concrete link” between the rapper and the shooting other than the vehicle.

There’s a bit of irony in this considering a friend of his, rapper Slim 400 was just in the ICU for getting shot about 10 times in a drive by so one would think he and his friends wouldn’t inflict the same on others or at least only in self-defense, not because you’re being pulled over for reckless driving. Hopefully this is the last of the shootings both he and his clique are involved in. So far his representation at United Talent Agency has not commented.
