Basketball Wives star and ex-wife of Shaq, Shaunie O’Neal will be sharing more about her relationship to Pastor Keion Henderson in a new wedding special to air on VH1. This will mark the first time a Basketball Wives star would get a wedding spin-off special. Evelyn Lozada was going to be the first as she had her 2012 wedding filmed but the 8 episode special was pulled after reports her husband Chad Ochocino had abused her.
Two years of dating lead to a November 11th proposal to the reality television show producer last year with O’Neal saying in a statement at the time, “This was one of the most magical and special days of my life.
Being someone that had never officially been proposed to — like no down on one knee and asked ‘will you marry me’ moment,” she told People Magazine. “And honestly I’m the person that thought I would never in my lifetime experience a love like this. Everything about that night was incredibly amazing.”
She went on to say, “I wouldn’t change a single thing. As a matter of fact, I wish I could experience it over and over again. Keion is an extraordinary man of God. He’s wise, he’s supportive, he’s so loving and attentive. He loves me and my children in a way that has changed my life and my heart. He makes me want to be better every day. And I pray that I do the same for him. This love is FOREVER and I’m honored and overjoyed to do forever with him.”
Shaunie has been divorced and single since 2011 and now that she’s in a new relationship, her ex Shaq took a moment to finally open up about their time together on The Big Podcast with Shaq. He says he takes responsibility for their marriage failing. When asked if Shaunie had anything to say about that, he just said, “she knows.” And he added, “I was just being greedy. I had it all, and I don’t make excuses — I know I messed up.“
As for Shaunie’s new show, we’re both glad to see her moving on with her life and happy.
