Susan Lucci has been a soap star literally since the 60s. It’s unimaginable how long we’ve had her on our television screens. So when she had a 90% main artery blockage and 70% in another branch in 2019, fans were obviously concerned for how she was ddoing. So in a random sidewalk interview with TMZ out and about in NYC, while explaining what she has in store for us in the future, she discussed a collaboration she’s now doing with The American Heart Association to spread awareness about heart disease and simply being mindful of one’s health. As an explanation of how she got to this place, she explained that she thought she had taken on her mother’s genes when in fact she had her father’s who had heart issues that she wasn’t aware of. And this is why as she says getting tested and knowing your family history is so important. As for when this new venture she calls a “passion project” of hers will be available for public consumption February 1st or 2nd which happens to be American Heart Month.

Last year at the Daytime Emmys, Lucci gave a speech about her late husband Helmet Huber who passed away in March of 2022. And while he passed away peacefully, we’re sure she doesn’t want to leave prematurely herself behind him. And what is so unfortunate about his passing is that he was there with her as her husband since she started All My Children in 1969. And instead of taking gifts of any sort following his passing, she requested any contributions be made to the American Stroke Association to promote awareness and research. We’re simply happy for her to be promoting health awareness for others and of course making sure that she’s taking care of herself. Erika Kane is a national treasure and has to be treated as such.
