We’ve been seeing internet clips of NeNe Leakes, Ray-J and others walking around a college campus together with rumors of a College Hill reboot. And now that it’s been confirmed that this is in fact happening and this time around with celebrities that didn’t finish college, what wasn’t expected as an added twist on the show was the inclusion of get ready for this, Stacey Dash to the cast.

A statement from Tracey Edmonds, CEO, and President of Edmonds Entertainment read “As the original creator and Executive Producer of College Hill. I am so elated to partner with Texas Southern University and be able to bring back this cherished franchise with an exciting new twist that I am sure will entertain and inspire new and old fans across the board. We intend to provide a fun but sometimes challenging journey that will show viewers it’s never too late to go back to school.”

“This Way Out Media is excited to partner with BET, series creator Edmonds Entertainment and Texas Southern University as we relaunch and reimagine the wildly popular College Hill franchise,” said Sean Rankine, CEO and Co-President of This Way Out Media, Inc. “We look forward to bringing the spotlight to HBCUs that they so rightly deserve, while entertainingly highlighting relevant conversations within the culture.”

Now the choice of Stacey Dash being cast is interesting and we can look no further than Queerty’s headline as to why. “Unemployable homophobe Stacey Dash reportedly cast in new reality series and this is gonna be messy.” The first word is unemployable. And the last place we were expecting to see her was on BET because that’s the network that she said was unnecessary and arguably racist along with the NAACP and Black History Month. Shortly after that remark, BET played a show that she was on just to remind her where she gets her royalty checks and where she made a name for herself.

Janet Huber once said she had no sympathy for Dash after she came out denouncing her former Conservative political pundit career. And her name has been beyond mud for some time now, at least since shortly after the 2016 election where years later she admitted to feeling that she had to play a role and tap into her anger while doing it. But given how America’s a country of second chances, here she is and the most unlikely of places that she would be hired has opened their arms up to her. Hopefully she’s learned her lesson but more importantly, we can’t wait to see how she interacts with the rest of the cast and how that conversation is going to go because of course it’s going to come up.

Other cast members will include Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member NeNe Leakes, former Lakers player Lamar Odom, Ray J, Dream Doll, Big Freedia and more. College Hill: Celebrity Edition is expected to air this summer.
