Stefon Diggs needs better friends. A report of an abandoned vehicle sitting in the dirt near Miami Airport Station was made around 5 am Sunday morning. It was a Mercedes G Wagon with Maryland tag plates that were traced to NFL player Stefon Diggs. The only thing is there was no evidence he was in the car or had anything to do with it. He wasn’t even in the state at the time so there really wasn’t anything to do but tow the car.
A spokesperson for Diggs has weighed in on the matter saying the car was loaned to a friend, they got a flat tire and left before the tow truck came. “[Stefon] was not driving the car,” Diggs’ rep says. “He allowed a friend to use the car while he was gone. Unfortunately, the friend had got a flat tire with the car.”
Well that’s interesting. Who just abandons their friends 6 figure car on the side of the road just willy nilly? A report on the incident is still pending and we’ll give updates on it as things progress.
Now for our speculation. People don’t just leave cars on the side of the road. There was a rapper we covered a couple years ago who loaned someone a car that then went and engaged in a drive by shooting in LA. Those are the types of friends that no one needs. Now could this have been a situation where someone was out with someone they had no business and didn’t want to be seen? Were they under the influence and didn’t want to be caught? There is some type of back story here we suspect we’ll be hearing about. While his spokesperson insisted the car wasn’t stolen, it may as well had been given his friend’s behavior.
And can we talk about why we’re fans of Diggs? By the way, it has nothing to do with his football career. Aside from being from our home state of Maryland, this man is such a Starbucks fan he had a Starbucks diamond chain made with over 1,000 emeralds and VS diamonds that took a month + to make. It cost about $15,000 to make. Those that know who runs this site, we’re some major coffee drinkers and can appreciate fellow caffeine addicts such as ourselves. 🙂
