The Verzuz Battles have become a life saver during the pandemic and who would have thought that Swizz Beatz and Timbaland would be the reigning producers of what the whole internet collectively watches in 2021 whenever it’s on? Well the virtual musical battle show that has featured the likes of Brandy and Monica, Keyshia Cole and Ashanti, Ludacris and Nelly just may have concocted one of the more epic Verzuz battles that probably no one saw coming.

That Verzuz battle that would be the battle of battles is between Tupac and Biggie. That is what Swizz proposed on ESPN2’s “Jalen and Jacoby” show. Just how did we get here? Swizz was asked if he had any “holy grail” match ups he’d like to see happen and that’s where it started. “My dream one, I want to figure out how to do Pac and Biggie in a way that the people is gonna really love it,” he told the camera. Timbaland fired back saying, “I got you on that. I got a couple ideas. I’ma text you! I’ma call you later!” Timbaland then took it a step further saying, ” Oh, but not even that, we gotta go Prince and Michael Jackson!”

The two already have some production credits of working with Tupac and Biggie so it’s not as though the experience isn’t there. Timbaland worked on Tupac’s 96 All Eyez On Me and Swizz worked on two posthumous projects that involved Biggie. And while there are fans who question why dig these two up as though there aren’t enough modern giants to feature, we all know people will be tuned in just because it’s the two biggest rap giants in history. And with that being said, we hope they go through with it. And as one fan said, Snoop and Diddy could be there narrating talking about their time working with them both.
