T.D. Jakes’ eldest daughter Cora announced divorcing her husband of 10 years in January, rapper SkiiVentura whose real name is Richard Brandon Coleman. At the time she wrote “It is with a heavy heart that I announce that my husband and I have decided to divorce. This is a very private and personal matter and I kindly ask for your prayers as I prioritize myself, and most importantly, my children’s well-being at this time. God bless.”
Now it looks like we’re finding out the reason for their split. According to La Reid, Coleman was recently arrested on child molestation charges. A source close to the family said he allegedly inappropriately touched their 13 year old adopted daughter and that it’s possible he may have been done more than just some inappropriate touching.
The mother of their 7 year old adopted son Jason went on social media weighing in on things as well saying in tears that Cora and Richard manipulated her into giving up her child. She also believes her son was harmed while living with the power couple.
As sad as this is, it’s not the first sexual abuse case in the Jakes family. It reminds us of T.D. Jakes’ son Jermaine Jakes who was arrested in 2009 in the park across the street from the church for exposing himself to two undercover officers. He began masturbating making eye contact with one of the officers.
Jakes’ family is going to need prayer, especially the children affected in Cora and Richard’s household.
