It’s been over a year since Nipsey Hussle died and about exactly a year since Kodak Black’s been in prison for trying to run the border drugs and weapons. And during that time, he’s had to contend with the fact that the world’s hated him the entire time he’s been behind bars. Why? Because when Nipsey Hussle, someone respected in the industry for putting his money where his mouth is when it came to his community was killed and he offered up the ultimate disrespect before he even went in the ground.

What was originally said was,“Lauren London that’s baby, though. She about to be out here single. She’s finna be a whole widow out here. I’ll be the best man I can be for her. I’ll give her a whole year. She might need a whole year to be crying and s**t for him. I ain’t trying to shoot [my shot] at her. I’m saying, listen. She can do two, three years. I’ll try to be like the friend if you need to holla or a shoulder to lean on. She can call my line.”

She finna be a whole widow out here….I’ll be the best man I can be for her. I’ll give her a whole year, she may need a whole year to be crying and sh*t.’

He tried one of those “I’m sorry if you were offended even though I did nothing wrong” apologies that no one wanted to hear and was immediately banned from Power 106 radio less than a day after opening his mouth at London. T.I. told him he was out of pocket and that he had disrespected hip hop entirely.

So here it is a year and some change later, Kodak’s still behind bars, and now that he’s had plenty of time to think about the sh** he did, he chose to apologize to Nipsey. “Willin To Accept When I’m Wrong & Stand Firm When I’m Right. The Whole World Know Your Example Was A Guiding Light. I Pray Your Fam Light & Accept This Humble Apology In My Kite,” he wrote on Instagram.

T.I. responded saying “That’s solid” and “Free KodakBlack.” And that’s a big deal. Of course, the apology was directed to Nipsey and not London. Some responded saying he had no problem apologizing to a dead man but not a living black woman. Well, he tagged her in the post and to that I’d say… baby steps. Baby steps. He’s apparently still growing up.
