Last summer a shooting occurred in front of a Times Square Hotel aimed at Chief Keef right before sunrise on June 2nd, essentially to scare him. It was arranged by Kintea “Kooda B” McKenzie who said he was paid by Tekashi69 to do it in the middle of a social media beef they were having. He’s taken a plea deal with the feds for racketeering and may face 4 to 5 years for assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering. “Today, Kintea McKenzie admitted his responsibility for a brazen shooting in bustling Times Square. In coordination with Tekashi69 and other Nine Trey gang members, McKenzie arranged to have another individual shoot at a rival gang member,” Manhattan U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman said.
This all comes from the takedown of alleged Nine Trey Bloods gang members where Tekashi69 whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was one of 11 people charged. He’s plead guilty and agreed to cooperate which has spelled bad news for Kooda B who penned a song in March titled Talking where he rapped “They making up stories, woah wait, when did this happen?” Most of the gang members have plead guilty but a couple are going to trial in September and Tekashi is expected to testify against him. He’s currently facing a mandatory sentence of 47 years but could get less for cooperation.
Back in January he said in a secret plea hearing in Manhattan Federal Court “In the fall of 2017, I met and joined the Nine Trey Blood Gang. As a member of Nine Trey, the enterprise engaged in such activities including shooting at people, robbing people, and at times drug trafficking.” Judge Paul Engelmayer confirmed saying “The government has represented that Mr. Hernandez is cooperating against multiple violent people associated with the same criminal enterprise of which he admits…being a member.” He now has gained the nickname Tekashi Snitch 9. We’ll be reporting on the rest as it occurs.
