The Game has been catching some flack from independent and up and coming artists that he’s been scamming them to put them on for a little while now. A phone call from an artist was posted to The Neighborhood Talk blog with the caption, “We Tried To Warn Y’all: Another Artist Claims The Game Scammed Her Out Of $1000 By Promising Her A Spot On His Mixtape: ‘Mixtape Isn’t Posted To His Official Pages.” The Game made sure to hop in the comments responding saying, “Please stop wit the fake news. I ain’t never scammed nobody in my life out of nothing !!!! If you want sumn to post, holla at me n I’ll do sumn to help y’all weird ass blog out.”

This same thing came up in March when he did an interview with HipHopDX saying artists had unrealistic expectations of working with him. “So when someone that doesn’t happen with some unsigned artists, well that person is mad, right?” he told DX at the time. “Because they thought that this drop or this mixtape slot was going to change their lives, when in reality it’s just a step on the ladder.
“Use it as you may and get as much as you can off of it, but it’s not going to make you DaBaby. Basically, I’m just trying to uplift artists with dope opportunities.”
He has plenty of artists thanking him for helping them that he’s posted in his Instagram Stories, but there’s plenty that are similarly dissatisfied. The complaint earlier this year that started it all said, “He doesn’t upload on his verified SoundCloud account, he uploads on a separate account with only 266 followers. In addition, he doesn’t market it on Instagram or Facebook, nor makes an appearance on any on the songs.”
But today, after The Neighborhood Talk made their post about him, he made one of his own saying, “I’m doing 1/2 off features for ALL independent artists DM @THEGOAT now & ‘HOW MUCH??’”

Ok, Game. That’s two. We’re not going to blame the man for anything but we think the least he could do is to add a little more personal touch so that artists can feel like they have their money’s worth. Run it across his own page a time or two… just saying.
