It’s been close to a decade since the daytime talk show The Real kicked off with hosts comedian Loni Love from Chelsea Lately, singer Tamar Braxton, actress Tamera Mowry-Housley, Cheetah Girl Adrienne Bailon and the Style Channel’s Jeannie Mai. But that time appears to be coming to an end now as The Jasmine Brand’s reporting that the show is being cancelled. Though no reason has been given for the cancellation or any announcement made to show staff, lagging ratings during the last season are being reported as the reason by RadarOnline.

In its 8 season tenure, the show has season its share of cast shakeups from Braxton being there from 2013-2016 and Amanda Seales lasting less than 6 months. Seales short time had to do with her saying she wasn’t allowed to speak about the lack of minority executives on the show which is ironic given that it’s a fully minority cast. And the sad part about it is that actress and former Real Housewives star Garcelle Beauvais had just gotten there so she’s especially going to be missed.

News of this comes amid reports of Nick Cannon’s talk show being cancelled after just one season after previously having very high hopes as he was a highly sought after host going into the run up to his show starting. Other shows cancelled include Jerry Springer’s new judge show and Wendy Williams show has been in limbo for months with questions about her ability to continue hosting in light of health concerns of hers for a few years now. Her show’s being replaced by Sherri Shepherd’s new show Sherri this fall.
