A Tennessee wedding venue refused a gay couple recently and has made news for the reaction to the decision. Mike Gill and Coty Heaton got engaged in July, attempted to get wed at Barn in the Bend and the owner Jackie Bend told Gill, “Did you mention that your partner was a ‘he’? If I’m wrong, I’m sorry.” She said that she “didn’t want to waste his time”, and added: “We do not offer same-sex marriages here.” The irony is that her email signature at first said, “We offer same-sex marriage ceremonies only.” Oh the irony.
Make sure you know where your money is going. Please do not support Barn in the Bend in Madison. They’re homophobic bigots. pic.twitter.com/e6ToCnq6q0

Well Todrick Hall was stopped by TMZ and asked what he thought about the situation and he said he felt it was an example of heterosexual privilege. He said he’d be open to being added to the wedding guest list because as he said, gay weddings are the best weddings. And Todrick is a supporter of gay marriage as he just helped a friend of his propose to his boyfriend of two years by getting him to do it on stage with him on stage at Northalsted Market Days festival this August.
As for this boycott, the internet has been talking about this venue so we’ll see if that materializes. It’s definitely a possibility.
