Megan Thee Stallion will soon be facing off her ex-fling Tory Lanez in court for their long awaited trial stemming from their 2020 altercation that resulted in Megan being shot by him. And Lanez’ house arrest restriction has been lifted just in time for the trial so he can prepare with his legal team. A Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office statement about Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson reads, “Mr. Peterson’s  house arrest was lifted over the objections of our office.” The whole purpose of him being under house arrest was his fight with August Alsina where his attorney Shawn Holley said “no charges had been filed in the Alsina case, and there were only allegations.”

The trial officially began November 28th with jury seletion currently underway in Los Angeles County. Opening arguments will be happening Monday, December 12th. As for Lanez being off of house arrest, Judge David Herriford said in court Monday, “I will terminate the house arrest at this point,” Rolling Stone reported. He added, “The main reason is that during trial, it’s difficult to have a client who’s not accessible. I’m doing this mainly for the trial preparation aspect.” He still has $350,000 bond and he said he would need more time to determine if he needs to still wear an ankle monitor throughout the trial. Just this past April his bail was increased after a tweet of his was found where he indirectly referred to Megan. If convicted, he faces 22 years in prison.

August Alsina said since the whole thing with Megan started, he’s been crash out mission. We certainly hope that’s not true. And at the same time, we can’t wait for this to be over because it’s been two years now.
