It’s been about 8 months since Megan Thee Stallion was allegedly shot by her then boyfriend Tory Lanez and about 5 since he was charged with 2 felonies, 2 for assault with a semiautomatic firearm and another for carrying a loaded, registered firearm in a vehicle. Today Lanez had court where he was denied the ability to publicly speak on the case. It was argued that it was unfair that she was able to speak on the case while he couldn’t.

It could be perceived that Lanez talking about the case would contribute to her trauma after being shot but imagine if this is all false. Is he to go about life for a full year without being able to speak on violent accusations and constant reports of domestic violence as he is now? That is to be debated but it does sound unfair to us. He’s also barred from contacting her which is understandable. The no public comment? Not so much.

In January it was reported that she had dropped the charges against him which would have ruled today’s court date null and void. Aside from being debunked, she isn’t the one with the ability to drop charges. That would be the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. He is currently facing a maximum of 22 years for allegedly shooting her feet last summer following a party in the Hollywood Hills they attended together.

Megan has spoken extensively about how she gets on the internet seeing people mock what happened to her everyday. And for that we feel for her. That also comes from Lanez not being able to speak. So naturally he’s probably sending his friends out as surrogates to say things and then in turn it gets regurgitated online all day everyday. That’s why he should be able to tell his side of the story. It’s only fair.
