Last November Trey Songz was accused of bringing a group of women to his hotel room at The Cosmopolitan in Vegas after celebrating his 37th birthday at Drai’s Nightclub when things got out of hand. Well after being held in limbo for months, a rep for the Vegas Metro Police Department announced that he’s been cleared of all charges today.
“The LVMPD has concluded the investigation into the sexual assault allegations against Tremaine Neverson and determined that no criminal charges will be filed. If any new evidence comes to light, the case will be reopened for further investigation,” the rep told TMZ.
Trey’s attorneys, David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld stated, “We are pleased that Trey Songz’ has been cleared of wrongdoing and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department investigation has officially been closed.”
They continued, “We are grateful to the LVMPD for the professional police work done and their thorough investigation, which included findings of inconsistency in witness testimony and insufficient evidence. We are pleased that Trey can now return to what he does best, entertaining.”
But Trey’s not exactly out of the clear just yet, he still has a $20 million lawsuit by a woman who claims he anally raped her in 2016. His attorney in February said the attorney representing the accuser had been accused themselves of paying people to make false accusations against the I Invented Sex singer. This story is still unfolding and we’ll be reporting on any updates as they come.
