Waka Flocka is currently experiencing an all too familiar case of FAFO (F*ck Around and Find Out). See, he voted for the president-elect, Donald Trump and had a meet and greet of his in DC cancelled. Now the meet and greet was at a liquor store so it wasn’t that great of a booking, especially for a reality tv star. So to support someone that is considered a societal pariah was going to be a risk. And unsurprisingly, the meet and greet was cancelled over backlash. and also unsurprisingly, he responded playing victim saying his freedom of speech is being denied. *Insert eyeroll here*

“Free speech is only given to those who don’t go against the system… A lot of ppl need to wake up… yall being used for a bigger agenda… free speech is free speech… my decision for who I vote for is my decision…” He went on to say it happened because of a group of people protesting. “They harassed a liquor store until they canceled the sh*t… then they spin it like I did something wrong for having an opinion… that’s freedom?”

Freedom of speech aside, which that’s not how that works anyway, there’s the question of whether he even voted for the man. He then made headlines later for his vote being checked through DidMyFriendsVote.org which shows he not only didn’t vote for the man, he has yet to vote since being registered to do so. And he was one of the faces of Rappers for Trump both in 2020 and again 2024. He’s probably not someone we would recommend taking advice from anyway. And for what it’s worth, while her twerking for a presidential nominee was criticized, at least she attended and finished college. So who she suggests voting for at least comes with a little intellect.

And back to Waka Flocka’s claims about his freedom of speech being denied, no one stopped him from saying who he supports, but voluntary association exists which means that people can choose whether to associate with you based on those beliefs that affect all of our lives. Maybe he should look for supporters of Trump to attend his meet and greets and he wouldn’t have this to worry about. Common sense would say not to do something that clearly goes against your audience’s beliefs but here we are.
