Wendy Williams has been in a state of physical decline in the public eye and for years now so the reason she has guardians taking care of her finances and legal matters is quite understood. But that clearly doesn’t mean anything to her ex-husband Kevin Hunter who is demanding she appear in court for an upcoming divorce hearing. He says her guardian Sabrina Morrissey has no legal standing to represent her in New Jersey.

In Hunter’s filing, he said “Ms. Morrissey’s ‘pro se’ representation of Ms. Wendy Williams is akin to practicing law without a license as she is neither a barred attorney, nor a Guardian appointed by a New Jersey Court.” He went on to say “It is conceivable that, based on the history of Ms. Morrissey as it relates to allegations of malfeasance regarding persons that she is the Guardian of in New York, that Ms. Wendy Williams may not need a guardian according to the laws of the State of New Jersey.” And it adds, “Ms. Morrissey is not a party to the divorce and therefore should not be involved in this preceding.”

While the two have been divorced now for 4 years, Hunter reopened the case when his settlement payments stopped in 2022. But that occurred because Williams’ Wells Fargo accounts were frozen that year because the bank said she was an “incapacitated person” of “unsound mind” and needed a guardian. So if the bank feels she needs a guardian, why is he arguing for her not to have one when it comes to her finances? It almost sounds as though he’s proving what she’s said about him taking advantage of her true. The judge that’s overseeing this case has given Morrissey 21 days to prove she has a legal right to represent Williams in court. We’ll see how this goes!
