In a break from the regular wild and uncomfortable relationship stories we have been hearing about Will Smith and Jada Pinkett, a lighter antecdote recently came from Will about a prank he played on his grandmother. But this wasn’t just any prank. He thought it was funny that his grandmother watch a sex scene his wife had and then for her to walk in the room as it was playing.
Detailed in his new memoir, Will, he spoke about it on the Graham Norton Show when he said “I was raised in a very religious household. And my grandmother Gigi is all the way down with Jesus. Because she didn’t know who Jada was, I put on a movie of hers and worked out that by the time Jada arrived my grandmother would be watching the love scene.”
He added, “When [Jada] walked in, my grandmother was in the middle of the scene and she looked up and said to Jada, ‘When I was growing up people didn’t have to take their clothes off to make a movie.’” It’s pretty safe to say the film in question was Jason’s Lyric in 1994 when she was rolling around a field butt naked with Allen Payne.
Unamused, his grandmother asked what would possess him to do such a thing to which he replied, “I said, ‘I promise you it’s funny, maybe not now, but one day this is going to provide us with years of joy. We have been together for 27 years and she literally hasn’t chuckled once.”
These are the stories we want to hear about Will and Jada and not him coming out with these random news stories as revenge for all the trash Jada has been passive aggressively been saying about him in the media. They’re a great couple and we all go through it but I can’t recall when we’ve seen such a media consuming couple all from voluntary statements they make.
