Simon Cowell has been a media staple in the talent gatekeeping world for decades. While he was known largely in America for American Idol at the start of the millenium, he also had X Factor in the UK that began two years later in 2004. It’s been known for the careers of Fifth Harmony, Alexander Burke, Leona Lewis, JLS and more. Unfortunately the show didn’t last but 3 seasons in America from 2011 to 2014.

Last year X Factor was taken off of the air because of COVID but like much of the business climate during this pandemic era it’s been said it isn’t returning at all. A spokesperson for the U.K. broadcaster ITV told Variety magazine “There are no current plans for the next series of ‘The X Factor’ at this stage.”

But if you’re a Simon Cowell fan, last month it was announced he would be moving to the genre-bending musical game show Walk The Line made by Syco and ITV Studios-owned Lifted Entertainment where he’ll be judging. During ths 6 part series you’ll have performers who will have the ability to move forward getting closer to winning the crown or they can leave with a cash prize along the way.

Will you be missing X Factor?
